Now is the time to GO BIG! People are looking for effective and innovative ways to do fitness. And- despite what you may hear and what you may assume, people are longing for passionate faith that makes a difference. So, now is not the time to be discouraged or fearful. It’s sure not the time to be timid and lack focus.

GO BIG with the fitness you deliver and the faith you live. Your business will thrive and the ministry you do will grow beyond what you can hope for. You don’t have to do it alone. Be part of a community that will equip you to GO BIG. – Brad Bloom, Publisher, Faith & Fitness Magazine

redefined – a faith and fitness conference provides professional development in 2 ways: online and in-person. You can do either or both.

There are multiple online sessions and our original in-person conference (this year in San Antonio), which includes a pre-conference, keynote, sessions, resources, 2021 Fitness Ministry Awards, AB Show Expo and demos. All of our sessions both online and in-person are organized into 4 track areas: Foundations, Your Team, Online and Go Big.

Foundations tracks provide a critical look into what makes faith and fitness together not just a logical but powerful match. If you’re truly going to bring the 2 together you need a rationale for why you should do it and a dynamic vision that will drive outcomes.

Your Team tracks help you start for growth, develop for health and innovate for expansion. A successful fitness business and ministry needs an inspired team that is well supported.

Go Online tracks deliver insight and support into the rapidly evolving and aggressive online marketplace.

Go Big tracks examine your future, cast vision and equip you to expand your range.

Life Changes, so do we.

Terms: Your registration fee is non-refundable. However we give you flexibility in three ways:

  1. You can transfer your unused registration to another person.
  2. You can receive a credit in the amount of the existing registration fee.
  3. You can choose to change your full registration fee into a donation to our non-profit ministry.

Session 1: Keynote A Firm Foundation – A Strong Future 8:30am-10:00am

SESSION DESCRIPTION: The present-day fitness industry is evolving quickly as it has ever since Jack Lalanne (the father of American fitness) opened the first fitness club in 1936, “preaching the health benefits of regular exercise and a good diet as the salvation of America”. There’s more religion in this fit culture than you realize AND – an ever increasing hunger for God. Surprised? We’re honored to begin the conference with our keynote speaker Patricia Lowery. She is a pioneer and longtime veteran in the faith and fitness culture. Our faculty then joins her to explore both the long history of the faith and fitness culture and the basic tenants of the Christian faith. To truly redefine how you do fitness with a faith-centered approach you need to be able to know, understand and build upon the foundation that faith and fitness pioneers have laid. This session helps you evolve beyond having a successful fitness business that is faith-friendly or faith-lite and do fitness ministry that creates and offers opportunities for your clients/members to richly experience the Christian faith and build a spiritually strong future.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER AND SESSION HOST, Patricia Lowery: Get all the foundational details from our Keynote speaker Patricia Lowery. She brings 50+ years of first hand insights, perspective, experience and God’s leading to this truly historic session. She will help you look at what has happened historically in the faith and fitness culture, understand how that should inform how you shape the future and challenge you to make faith central to all you do.

Tim Cheux, is the founder of Free And Fit NYC. He is originally from England and thus brings an additional historical perspective to this foundations session. His knowledge of spiritual direction coupled with his passion to lead others to Christ through fitness will invite you to consider how delivering the core principles of the Christian faith can be thoughtfully woven into your business mission.

Laura Monica is the founder of WholyFit a biblically based stretching, strength & flexibility fitness system that strengthens body, mind and spirit. With over 20 years of experience innovating faith-centered fitness programming she is eager to help you stretch your faith in pursuing the vision God has for your fitness business and ministry.

Billy Weatherall is the Founder of Christ Fit Gym, in Bossier City, Louisiana. The homepage on his website says the gym is a non profit, “Non profit meaning it will cost adults and children nothing to participate in the classes that Christ Fit Gym offers. Christ Fit Gym holds daily Bible Devotions, prayer groups, Bible studies, and holds an after school program for teenage boys and girls. This is a local ministry that gives all the Glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Billy helps people get clarity on just how easy it is to make the basic tenants of the Christian faith central to business and the customer experience.

NOTE: Stephanie Gibson, Director of the Christian Mission Department of the Frank P. Phillips YMCA in Columbus, Mississippi will be bringing copies of the new book, The Shining Light: The Man, Mission, an d Movement of the YMCA for those who want to better understand the historical foundation of the YMCA. Watch The Reason Why (part 1) for an overview.

10am-10:30am, BREAK – NETWORKING Be sure to use this time to put your name on the sign-up sheets to reserve your Thursday afternoon 15-minute 1-on-1 consultations with our faculty.

Session 2: Redefine How Online Is Done 10:30am-12:00pm

SESSION DESCRIPTION: Have you taken your business online yet? No, we mean REALLY online! It opens powerful opportunities for revenue, impact and more. More? Yeah, like redefining how your faith-centered business can rise above the cancel culture and be the leader of the truly “connected” culture. This is a lot more than just Zoom. We’re going to help you Vroooom!

SESSION HOST, Sean Garner: Sean Garner is the founder of EntreFit.If you’re a fitness professional, Sean has a special message to share just with you. As a fitness professional, you’re passionate about helping others get fit and become healthier versions of themselves. Yet, you yourself are hurting and in need of additional ways to make income. Sean has been in this industry for almost 10 years. He says, “I have multiple revenue streams in the industry. And just from social media brand deals alone, I make what I used to make working 80 hours a week in the gym.” Sean and the faculty of this session will help you create a sustainable career in fitness and stand out amongst your peers as a leader in the industry.

De Bolton of FaithFueled Mom started her online venture as a blog. Today she’s grown it into a mobile app that reaches people with her wide range of certifications and services.

You might think that people who started a fitness business before the Internet existed would be slow to adapt. Laura Monica saw the potential for going online early and has been doing it ever since. She’s had plenty of successes, failures and more and wants to help you Go Online to start maximizing your fitness ministry for Christ.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS 1pm-2:30pm

Session 3: Team Transformation – The License To “Be Life” To Your Team 3pm-4:30pm

SESSION DESCRIPTION: In this session you’ll be empowered with new ideas, bold challenges, refreshing freedom and the confidence that you’ve just become part of your new team of passionate Redefined Conference colleagues. Having a team isn’t just about getting the work of your business done well. Your team reflects your mission and makes the total experience inherently incarnational.

SESSION HOST, Karla Medina: If you’re like Karla Medina Founder of Sudor Taino Group Fitness you are passionate about your business and know exactly what you want clients/members to experience. To get that result you have to lead well. Karla leads our group of presenters to help you “be licensed” to lead your team. Karla hasn’t just built her team, she prays with them, puts them into God’s hands and empowers them to discover all that God wants to do through them.

Debbie Brown, Associate Director of Recreation & Fitness at Fitness @ Houston’s First has been leading a team of staff, volunteers and members at one of the nation’s most established and innovative church fitness facilities. She’ll talk about hiring, training and creating a culture that honors God, nurtures spiritual growth and makes faith key to a healthy, whole and fulfilled lifestyle.

Sam Kuhnert, founder of NubAbility Athletics is a 2019 Fitness Ministry Award recipient. When you work with limb different youth like Sam and his team you face a lot of challenges from the very beginning – not just physical but psychological, emotional and spiritual. To create a culture of love like they do requires a trained and cohesive team to share the same values and use strategies and practices that you know work. That’s why they use the word ‘family’ over team. He currently has over 160 coaches in 30 states and 3 countries who train in the NubAbility model, get specifically matched with the youth and then work closely with Sam, staff and community.

Stephanie Gibson is the Christian Mission Director at the Frank P. Phillips YMCA. The Y throughout the U.S. and the world is one of the largest and longest established non-profit organizations. That size and history has both strengths and weaknesses that shape the dynamics of how the Y does “team”. Stephanie offers insights into how she and others in Y associations across the country navigate and shape the member experience, corporate culture and community relations – all of the teams at the Y. The interactions she has with each of these teams is strengthening the Christian mission of her association and others around the world.

10am-10:15am, BREAK

Session 5: Go Big 10:15am-11:30am

SESSION DESCRIPTION: More than “how to”, in this session we want you to see what GO BIG looks like. Our faculty Billy Weatherall, De Bolton and Monica O’Rourke have big adventures, ideas, advice and encouragement to share. Lived experiences are what help us move theory, good ideas and best practices into the brick and mortar of real life. In this session we want to helpfuel your hope and passion. Get ready, because they’re not the only ones who will be sharing.

SESSION HOST, Brad Bloom: The theme for this year’s conference is also the focus of this track and session. Brad Bloom, Publisher of Faith & Fitness Magazine hosts this culminating session with a team of presenters that want to help you GO BIG by innovating, nailing your purpose, delivering transformative leadership, building member/client loyalty and passion and redefining results for your community. Be ready to explore the depths of your fitness ministry and create new opportunities for your business.

Scared to GO BIG? Billy Weatherall was too. Serving in the military in Afghanistan and Iraq prepared him for challenging and demanding situations. Business success gave him confidence and capacity for growth. God wanted more than all of that. Billy is here to help you GO BIG by learning how to continually be completely dependent on God.

One of the most overlooked markets in the fitness industry is the family. De Bolton will help you to think about how you can GO BIG by equipping your existing client base to have a strong family.

Monica O’Rourke is on the Board of Directors for Christian Society for Kinesiology, Leisure and Sport Studies (CSKLS) and is a Professor of Kinesiology in the College of Health Science at California Baptist University. She brings a perspective to “GO BIG” that especially looks at the who, where and what of faith and fitness as it relates to those 18-30 and particularly those in college. She’ll help us consider how what we do can not only shape this market but in turn plant seeds that could shape higher education and thus the entire fitness industry for future generations.
